Donald Trump on Monday criticized former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for suggesting that Iran’s allies might supply it with nuclear warheads following U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. Medvedev, now deputy chair of Russia’s Security Council, stated, “A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads.”
Trump responded on Truth Social: “Did he really say that…? The ‘N word’ should not be treated so casually.” He added that U.S. submarines, which launched 30 Tomahawk missiles at Iran’s Fordow and Isfahan facilities, are also capable of deploying nuclear weapons.
Saturday’s strikes targeted three nuclear sites, with “bunker busting” bombs reportedly hitting the Fordow enrichment facility. Russia, which has remained largely inactive during recent Israeli strikes on Iran, signaled support following the U.S. attacks. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov confirmed a meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Vladimir Putin.
Trump is scheduled to meet with his national security team and urged Iran to reenter negotiations or face more U.S. military action.
