Donald Trump said Tuesday that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is an “easy target” but added there are no plans to kill him — “at least not for now.” The comments, posted on Truth Social, come as Israel and Iran continue a fifth day of military conflict.

“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding,” Trump wrote. “He is an easy target… but is safe there.” He added, “We don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.”

The post coincided with Trump’s Situation Room meetings on the conflict. Reports suggest Israeli and U.S. officials are discussing the possibility of pushing for regime change. Benjamin Netanyahu has not ruled out targeting Khamenei, though Trump has reportedly urged caution.

Trump left the G7 summit in Canada early to oversee developments, stating he wants “a real end” to the conflict, not just a ceasefire, but what he called a “complete give-up” by Iran.
