President Donald Trump on Thursday accused Democrats of leaking classified intelligence about recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, calling for prosecution of the leakers.
“The Democrats are the ones who leaked the information on the PERFECT FLIGHT to the Nuclear Sites in Iran. They should be prosecuted!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The comment follows reports of an internal Defense Intelligence Agency assessment suggesting the strikes caused less damage than Trump claimed. Trump and the White House insist Iran’s nuclear program was “obliterated.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the FBI is investigating the leak. “Leaking top secret, classified intelligence is a crime and people need to be held accountable,” Leavitt told reporters in her first briefing since the attacks.
She called the operation “one of the most successful missions in U.S. history,” asserting it marked a “total obliteration” of Iran’s nuclear facilities. Leavitt praised Trump’s leadership, claiming his actions are steering the Middle East toward peace.
Trump did not name a specific leaker, but Leavitt said she’s confident it wasn’t someone on his team.
