Former President Trump’s request for a new trial has been denied by a federal judge. This decision comes after a jury found him guilty of sexually abusing and defaming writer E. Jean Carroll.
The judge determined that the verdict was not flawed or unjust, and the $5 million in damages awarded to Carroll was appropriate. Trump is currently in the process of appealing the verdict and is facing another lawsuit from Carroll, which is scheduled to go to trial in January. In this separate case, he is accused of defaming Carroll during his time as President.
