Democrats and Republicans in Wisconsin have chosen new presidential electors, four years after Republicans posed as fake electors for Donald Trump. Meeting at the state Capitol, both parties selected 10 electors who will represent voters in the 2024 presidential election, with the popular vote determining which electors participate in the Electoral College.
In 2020, 10 Wisconsin Republicans falsely claimed Trump won the state, leading to a lawsuit and settlement requiring them to admit they tried to overturn the results. Among the new electors are former Gov. Tommy Thompson for the Republicans and Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez for the Democrats.
