Washington, DC — A White House agreement promoting “super intelligence” drew unexpected attention Wednesday after official images published by President Donald Trump and the White House misspelled the name of the country beneath the president’s signature.

The “Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities,” produced following Trump’s meeting with leading artificial intelligence executives, identified him as “President of the Unites States.” The erroneous image appeared in posts on both X and Trump’s Truth Social account, quickly generating ridicule online.

The mistake was particularly conspicuous because the agreement focuses on managing increasingly sophisticated technology. Trump has also pushed companies and federal officials to replace the term “artificial intelligence” with “super intelligence,” arguing the new description better reflects the technology’s capabilities.

Beyond the typo, the accord establishes four voluntary safety principles for companies developing advanced AI. They include stronger internal cybersecurity controls, dedicated monitoring teams, independent outside audits and committees responsible for reviewing safety findings.

Executives associated with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Meta, xAI and Nvidia signed the agreement. Trump has generally favored industry self-regulation rather than extensive federal restrictions, even as several participating technology leaders have publicly warned about risks from increasingly powerful AI systems.

The White House had not publicly explained how the spelling error made it into the released document.
