Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) proudly declared his strong ties to organized labor during a Labor Day speech in Milwaukee, saying, “I am the pocket” of unions, as he and Vice President Kamala Harris sought to rally union support in several critical “blue wall” states.

Walz, a former teacher and National Education Association member, emphasized his commitment to collective bargaining, fair wages, and workers’ rights. His remarks came after meeting with labor leaders in Minnesota and heading to Wisconsin.

Meanwhile, Vice President Harris made campaign stops in Detroit and Pittsburgh, echoing her alignment with President Biden on union issues. With endorsements from major labor groups like the AFL-CIO and United Auto Workers, Harris’s campaign aims to solidify support among working-class voters, a crucial demographic in swing states as the election nears.
