Vice President Kamala Harris called on Israel to expedite humanitarian aid to Gaza, citing a World Food Programme (WFP) report that highlights severe food shortages. Harris emphasized the need for Israel to ensure civilians have access to essentials like food, water, and medicine, in line with international humanitarian law.

The WFP report noted that escalating violence in northern Gaza has cut off aid since October 1, leaving thousands of Palestinians in urgent need. Food distribution centers have been forced to close due to airstrikes and ground operations, making it difficult for humanitarian organizations to deliver critical supplies.

The conflict between Israel and Hamas, which began last year, has led to over 42,000 Palestinian deaths and increased regional tensions, including recent missile strikes from Iran.
