A private dinner planned at Vice President JD Vance’s residence for senior administration officials was abruptly canceled after reports surfaced that it would include discussion of the Trump administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The gathering, first reported by CNN, was allegedly intended to address the political fallout surrounding the Epstein investigation and the administration’s handling of related files. However, a spokesperson for Vance denied the dinner was ever scheduled. “There was never a supposed meeting scheduled at the Vice President’s residence to discuss Epstein strategy,” said William Martin.

The Trump administration has faced persistent criticism over its handling of the convicted sex offender’s case. The fallout intensified in July when the Department of Justice said the rumored Epstein “client list” did not exist, frustrating Trump supporters who had expected more transparency.

Trump previously promised to release files related to Epstein if reelected, a pledge that has since drawn renewed attention amid public skepticism and internal political tension.
