Former President Donald Trump dominated the immigration portion of the presidential debate Thursday night, presenting misinformation with minimal pushback from President Joe Biden. Jeffrey Thielman, leader of the International Institute of New England, expressed concern over Biden’s lack of clarity, fearing potential funding cuts if Trump wins a second term. Latino and immigrant rights organizations, including America’s Voice and Voto Latino, criticized the debate for not addressing meaningful solutions and perpetuating harmful stereotypes about immigrants.
