WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump warned that Iran will be “hit very hard” as U.S. military operations continue into a second week of fighting.

Trump issued the warning in a post on Truth Social early Saturday, suggesting additional targets may now be under consideration.

The statement followed comments from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who rejected Trump’s demand for “unconditional surrender” while signaling that Iran would halt attacks on neighboring countries unless strikes originated from their territory. Pezeshkian also apologized to regional governments for earlier missile strikes.

The conflict escalated after joint U.S.-Israeli strikes reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei last week. Iranian retaliatory attacks have targeted U.S. and Israeli interests across the region.

Iranian state television reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps struck the Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, though those claims have not been independently verified.

Preliminary estimates from a U.S.-based monitoring group say more than 1,100 civilians and 176 military personnel have been killed in Iran since the fighting began. Iranian strikes have also killed at least 11 people in Israel and six U.S. service members in Kuwait.
