President Donald Trump informed Savannah and Grayson Chrisley on Tuesday that he will pardon their parents, reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were convicted in 2022 of fraud and tax evasion.

“It’s a terrible thing, but it’s a great thing because your parents are going to be free and clean,” Trump told them during an Oval Office phone call. “We’ll try getting it done tomorrow… Wish them a good life.”

Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years and Julie Chrisley to seven after a jury found they defrauded banks out of over $36 million and evaded taxes while profiting from their show “Chrisley Knows Best.”

White House spokesperson Harrison Fields said the pardons reflect Trump’s desire to give “well-deserving Americans a second chance,” calling the case an example of an “unjust justice system.”

Prosecutors had alleged the couple submitted false documents for loans and failed to file tax returns from 2013 to 2016. The pardon follows Trump’s clemency for former Virginia sheriff Scott Jenkins and others, including more than 1,500 people convicted in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
