As Donald Trump campaigns for a return to the White House, he has launched a new product aimed at his supporters: the “God Bless the USA Bible,” priced at $59.99. This Bible, inspired by Lee Greenwood’s patriotic song, was announced by Trump on his Truth Social platform during Holy Week. The product aligns with Trump’s frequent use of Greenwood’s song at his rallies and features not only the King James Version of the Bible but also copies of foundational U.S. documents and a handwritten chorus of the song.
The launch comes at a time when Trump is dealing with significant legal financial obligations, including a recent New York appeals court decision allowing him a temporary reprieve from a $454 million civil fraud judgment, provided he posts a $175 million bond within 10 days. Trump’s commercial ventures extend beyond this Bible to include sneakers, NFTs, and books.
The “God Bless the USA Bible” is marketed as non-political, with the website clarifying it is not associated with Trump’s political campaign. Licensing for Trump’s name and image is provided by CIC Ventures LLC, a company Trump disclosed owning in 2023, under terms that allow for termination or revocation.
Trump’s appeal to white evangelical Christians, despite past behaviors and statements that clash with Christian teachings, reveals the strategic nature of this product launch.
