President Donald Trump on Tuesday described himself and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “war heroes,” citing U.S. airstrikes in June on Iranian nuclear facilities.

In an interview on The Mark Levin Show, Trump praised Netanyahu, who faces an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for alleged war crimes during the Israel-Hamas conflict. “Bibi is a good man… He’s a war hero, because we work together. He’s a war hero. I guess I am, too,” Trump said.

The president, who has not served in the military, also detailed the strikes, saying, “The pilots came. I rewarded them. I brought them all to the Oval Office… the whole operation… was just an obliteration.”

The operation, dubbed “Midnight Hammer,” involved B-2 bombers dropping 30,000-pound bunker buster bombs on underground enrichment facilities after departing from Missouri. The pilots later visited the White House during the July 4 holiday.

Trump dismissed Pentagon assessments that the strikes only set back Iran’s nuclear program by months, claiming the damage was far greater. He has repeatedly framed the attack as crippling Iran’s nuclear capabilities for years.
