Donald Trump publicly criticized former Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday, calling him “kooky” over his opposition to U.S. involvement in the growing conflict between Israel and Iran. “IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, dismissing Carlson’s call to avoid escalation.
The rebuke came just hours after reporters asked Trump about Carlson’s warnings that the U.S. is being drawn into another Middle Eastern war. “Let him go get a television network and say it so that people listen,” Trump said during a G7 summit meeting with the U.K. prime minister.
Carlson, once a loyal Trump ally, accused the president last week of being “complicit” in Israel’s military campaign and criticized “warmongers” pushing for U.S. military action. Despite continued support for Trump’s broader agenda, Carlson has urged restraint on Iran.
Trump, who left the G7 summit early due to the Middle East crisis, later advised Tehran residents to evacuate as Israeli strikes continue.
