Washington, DC — President Donald Trump has issued another round of pardons and commutations, drawing renewed scrutiny as several of the cases involve repeat offenders and individuals with ties to Florida and Puerto Rico.

Among the 13 pardons announced Thursday was Adriana Camberos, a woman previously granted clemency during Trump’s first term who was later convicted again on federal fraud charges. Camberos initially received a sentence commutation in 2021 after being convicted in a scheme involving counterfeit 5-Hour Energy bottles diverted from resale in Mexico and fraudulently sold in the United States.

In 2024, Camberos and her brother, Andres, were convicted in a separate case involving wholesale grocery fraud. Prosecutors said the siblings falsely claimed products were destined for Mexico, prisons, or rehabilitation facilities, then resold the goods at higher prices to U.S. distributors, including buyers operating across multiple states such as Florida.

Trump’s clemency list also included former Puerto Rico Gov. Wanda Vázquez, who pleaded guilty to a campaign finance violation, as well as the father of a major donor to Trump’s super PAC. On Friday, Trump issued an additional pardon for Terren Peizer, a healthcare executive with business ties in Florida and California who had been sentenced to 42 months in prison for insider trading.

Peizer, who led the Miami-based healthcare company Ontrak, was convicted of avoiding more than $12.5 million in losses through illegal stock trades and fined over $5 million.

The pardons come during Trump’s first year of his second term, as the administration continues reshaping the Justice Department’s clemency process, including the removal of longtime internal review safeguards.
