Former President Donald Trump stated he knew “nothing” about a misleading post on his Truth Social account that falsely claimed he was endorsed by JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon. When questioned by NBC’s Jake Traylor during a campaign stop in Evans, Georgia, Trump said, “Somebody put it up – no I don’t know.”
Dimon quickly denied the endorsement, reiterating his stance of not supporting any candidate in this election. In an August Washington Post column, Dimon called for leadership that unites the nation and avoids pandering to extremes.
Trump previously dismissed rumors of considering Dimon for a cabinet position, blaming the “radical left” for spreading the story. Dimon had earlier expressed support for Nikki Haley, which Trump criticized last year.
