Former President Trump publicly criticized his Republican rivals on his Truth Social platform, emphasizing the importance of “America-first” values associated with his “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement. He targeted Nikki Haley, labeling her a “Globalist RINO” and doubting her ability to win the General Election due to her lack of MAGA alignment. Trump also took a jab at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, referring to him as “Ron DeSanctimonious” and describing him as only “MAGA-Lite.”

Trump further claimed that he is the only genuine representative of the MAGA movement, stating, “Remember, I think MAGA is almost ALL of the Republican Party. The days of the RINOS and non-AMERICA FIRST candidates are OVER! Nikki is a Globalist RINO, backed by American’s for Chinese Growth, the Charles Koch con job. It’s not going to happen for her, or DeSanctimonious!”

Additionally, Trump dismissed support for Vivek Ramaswamy, despite him being the most supportive of Trump among the candidates, calling votes for Ramaswamy “wasted” and suggesting his supporters should instead back Trump.

This criticism comes as Haley’s rise in polls has shifted Trump’s focus from DeSantis to her. Despite this, Trump leads significantly in recent polls ahead of the Iowa caucuses, with a 34.7 percentage point advantage, holding 53 percent support. Haley follows with 18.3 percent, DeSantis has 15.9 percent, and Ramaswamy holds 7.3 percent.
