Former President Donald Trump is unhappy about President Joe Biden dropping out of the race, blasting Democrats for making his campaign “start all over.” Trump accused the Democrats of wasting the Republican Party’s time and money with the last-minute switch to Vice President Kamala Harris. On Truth Social, Trump wrote, “So, we are forced to spend time and money on fighting Crooked Joe Biden… Now we have to start all over again. Shouldn’t the Republican Party be reimbursed for fraud?”

Some Republicans, upset with the change, have threatened to sue to prevent Harris from taking Biden’s campaign resources. Legal experts, however, believe such efforts are unlikely to succeed.

Trump’s campaign had hoped Biden would remain in the race, given the president’s declining performance. Now, facing the younger and more dynamic Harris, Trump’s team must shift its strategy. Trump’s campaign, which had framed the race as a referendum on Biden, now has to adapt to Harris, who is positioning herself as a formidable opponent. Trump has already tested various nicknames for Harris, such as “Lyin’ Kamala Harris,” but acknowledges that his campaign strategy needs a complete reset.
