At a Mar-a-Lago press conference, Donald Trump controversially compared the size of his January 6 rally crowd to that of Martin Luther King Jr.’s 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech. “Nobody has spoken to crowds bigger than me,” Trump claimed, despite official estimates placing his crowd at 53,000, far smaller than the 250,000 who attended King’s address.
Trump also criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, questioning her racial identity and competence. He accused her of being “disrespectful” to Black and Indian American voters and suggested her poll surge was due to her gender. Trump acknowledged Harris’ candidacy might slightly affect his support among Black voters but insisted he’s doing well with Black males.
In response, Harris’ campaign mocked Trump’s remarks with a release titled, “Donald Trump’s Very Good, Very Normal Press Conference,” highlighting the stark contrast between their messages. Trump’s comments come as Harris continues to gain momentum, overshadowing Trump’s campaign in recent weeks.
