Tom Homan, President Donald Trump’s border czar, defended the administration’s decision to ignore a federal judge’s order blocking the deportation of alleged Venezuelan gang members, setting up a potential Supreme Court battle over Trump’s deportation powers.

Homan, in a Fox News interview Monday, said the two deportation flights to El Salvador proceeded because they were already in international airspace when U.S. District Judge James Boasberg issued his Saturday ruling halting the removals.

“We are going to make this country safe again … I don’t care what the judges think. I don’t care what the Left thinks. We’re coming.”

Homan also confirmed deportation flights would continue daily and that Trump’s executive order invoking the 1798 Alien Enemies Act was a “game-changer”.

The Alien Enemies Act, last used in World War II, allows the removal of non-citizens without due process. Critics warn its application outside of wartime raises serious legal concerns. The White House claims Boasberg’s ruling “had no lawful basis.”
