Investigators found Thomas Matthew Crooks had also researched dates for the Democratic National Convention and Trump’s appearances.

Investigators found an AR-style rifle, purchased legally by Crooks’ father, multiple loaded magazines, a bulletproof vest, and an explosive device. Security lapses are under review, and the Secret Service faces scrutiny.

Crooks climbed a building, positioned his rifle, and began shooting. Law enforcement identified him but couldn’t neutralize the threat in time. A counter-sniper team eventually killed him.
