President Donald Trump’s job approval has dropped to a new second-term low, according to a national Economist/YouGov poll conducted October 24–27. The survey found 39 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the presidency, while 58 percent disapprove — a 19-point net negative, his lowest rating since returning to office.

The poll, which surveyed 1,623 adults with a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points, shows declines across nearly all demographics. Among adults aged 18 to 29, only 20 percent approve of Trump’s performance compared to 75 percent who disapprove, a stark reversal from February when he enjoyed positive approval among young voters.

On individual issues, Trump performed best on crime, where he was just one point underwater. However, he faced double-digit deficits on other key topics — negative-10 on immigration, negative-13 on foreign policy, negative-22 on jobs and the economy, and negative-31 on inflation and prices.

The results mark a continuation of downward trends in Trump’s weekly approval numbers, which have steadily worsened since early October.
