President Trump is calling for Kamala Harris and several celebrities to be prosecuted over what he claims were illegal payments made for endorsements during the 2024 campaign. In a Truth Social post Saturday night, Trump alleged that the Harris campaign misrepresented large sums paid to public figures like Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Al Sharpton.

Trump claimed the endorsements amounted to “totally illegal” campaign contributions and said the payments were falsely listed in financial disclosures. “Kamala, and all of those that received Endorsement money, BROKE THE LAW,” he wrote, calling for prosecutions.

Harris’s campaign reportedly spent over $1 billion in three months. Previous reporting indicated some celebrity payments were routed through nonprofits or production companies. Beyoncé and Oprah have denied receiving funds for endorsements, saying their payments were for event production.

In May, Trump called for a “major investigation” into the matter, also naming Bruce Springsteen. On Saturday, he reiterated that these celebrity fees “did absolutely NOTHING” and were meant to sway voters.

Critics note no federal enforcement agency has confirmed wrongdoing, and the legality of such payments would depend on intent and campaign finance disclosures.
