Former Trump adviser Stephen Miller will rejoin the White House in January as deputy chief of staff for policy, officials confirmed. Miller, who previously shaped Trump’s immigration policies, will lead efforts on an agenda that includes mass deportations and restrictions on birthright citizenship.

Miller, who architected policies like the “Muslim travel ban” and family separations, will work alongside Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. His return signals a focus on immigration, with Trump appointing former ICE Director Tom Homan as “border czar” and promising actions like restarting border wall construction and possibly reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy.

Previously, Miller led America First Legal, challenging Democratic policies in court, and became a prominent voice at Trump rallies calling for reduced immigration. His career in immigration policy began as an aide to former Senator Jeff Sessions, with whom he developed Trump’s early immigration strategies.
