Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) has publicly stated that he has not been in contact with former President Donald Trump or anyone from his campaign regarding the possibility of being Trump’s vice-presidential nominee. Despite speculation and reports by NBC News suggesting Rubio is a contender in Trump’s search for a running mate, Rubio emphasized in a “Meet the Press NOW” segment that no discussions have taken place.
He also expressed that being considered for such a role would be an honor. Trump has confirmed exploring several potential vice-presidential candidates, including Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and others, showcasing a broad search for his 2024 running mate. Rubio, who endorsed Trump’s 2024 bid earlier, highlighted his successful policy achievements during Trump’s presidency and stressed the importance of Trump’s leadership style in addressing current national challenges.
