Four Secretaries of State from key battleground states assured that they are ready to conduct a safe and secure presidential election, despite past threats to election workers. Pennsylvania’s Al Schmidt revealed a task force is set up to respond quickly to any threats similar to those experienced in 2020.

Georgia’s Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, confirmed sufficient volunteers for election work, praising county recruitment efforts. Michigan’s Jocelyn Benson emphasized the need to protect election workers, stating, “We have to also protect the people who protect democracy.”

All four officials admitted to receiving personal threats since the 2020 election. Arizona’s Adrian Fontes labeled such threats as “domestic terrorism,” aimed at intimidating election officials.

The secretaries, all from states where the 2020 election results were legally challenged, expressed readiness to combat voting misinformation. Fontes highlighted the importance of checks and balances in the system.

Raffensperger mentioned that Georgia now allows prescanning and preprocessing of mail-in ballots for quicker results. Schmidt stressed the need to inform voters about new processes affecting voting and ballot counting.

Benson echoed Schmidt’s sentiments, inviting people to ask questions and serve as election workers to understand the security measures ensuring only valid votes are counted.
