Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Sunday that 10 more individuals identified as members of the MS-13 and Tren de Aragua gangs were deported to El Salvador as part of the Trump administration‘s ongoing immigration enforcement efforts.
In a post on X, Rubio praised the cooperation between President Trump and El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele, calling it “an example for security and prosperity in our hemisphere.”
President Trump also applauded Bukele on Truth Social, noting that El Salvador had accepted custody of “some of the most violent alien enemies” and that they would “never threaten or menace our Citizens again.”
Bukele is scheduled to visit the White House on Monday for an official working meeting.
Separately, the administration reported on the status of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man mistakenly deported to El Salvador. A federal judge had ordered the government to facilitate his return. While officials confirmed he is “alive and secure,” they provided no update on efforts to bring him back to the U.S.
