New York City, New York — New allegations involving longtime Trump ally Roger Stone have surfaced after a former associate provided text messages to NewsNation that appear to show discussions about political retaliation and violent rhetoric targeting political opponents, including former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo.

The messages were shared by Jacob Engels, a former Stone employee and former Florida Proud Boys leader, who claimed Stone fostered an environment centered on intimidation, loyalty, and plausible deniability. Engels said the exchanges occurred primarily in 2020 while Stone faced legal and political battles tied to investigations involving President Donald Trump and Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

In one message published by NewsNation, Stone allegedly referred to Andrew Cuomo as a “murderer” and discussed confronting or harming political opponents. Additional texts referenced former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, who played a key role in the Mueller investigation. Engels claimed the conversations reflected repeated patterns of violent rhetoric rather than isolated political exaggeration.

Stone did not respond to requests for comment from NewsNation. In previous controversies involving leaked audio recordings, Stone denied similar allegations and suggested recordings had been manipulated or taken out of context.

The report also highlighted alleged connections between Stone associates, Proud Boys members, and former NYPD officer Sal Greco, who reportedly accompanied Stone during the January 6 period and later lost his police position due to those ties.

Federal authorities previously investigated separate recordings involving Stone discussing Democratic lawmakers, though no public charges resulted from those inquiries.

The allegations emerge as Stone has reportedly reestablished significant political influence and lobbying activity during Trump’s second term.
