Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reportedly reached out to Vice President Kamala Harris about a potential Cabinet position if she wins in November, a Democratic official confirmed. However, the outreach, first reported by The Washington Post, was unsuccessful.
The Democratic National Committee dismissed Kennedy’s efforts, with spokesperson Matt Corridoni labeling him a “MAGA-funded fringe candidate” who had also sought a role in a potential Trump administration.
Kennedy, who was once seen as a possible spoiler for former President Trump or President Biden, now appears to pose more of a challenge for Trump. After failing to secure a deal with Harris, Kennedy criticized her on social media, stating, “I have no plans to endorse Kamala Harris for President. I do have a plan to defeat her.”
While Kennedy has claimed he will be on the ballot in all 50 states, he was recently denied access in New York over residency issues, though a North Carolina judge ruled in his favor to remain on the ballot there.
