At least six protesters were removed from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) town hall in Cobb County, Georgia, on Tuesday night, with three arrested by Acworth police. Two of those arrested were subdued with stun guns. Authorities said the individuals resisted arrest and one was not a resident of Greene’s district.
Greene warned at the start of the event that disruptions would not be tolerated, saying, “This is not a political rally. This is not a protest.”
During the town hall, Greene defended President Trump’s tariffs, praised the Department of Government Efficiency’s work, and called for the defunding of PBS and NPR. She denied claims that Social Security and Medicare are being cut, stating, “No one has lost their Social Security or Medicare.”
She also condemned the recent arson attack on Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s residence and reiterated her opposition to political violence.
Despite recent advice for Republicans to avoid town halls, Greene held the event and attributed disruptions to “funded” Democratic efforts.
