Recently uncovered training videos for Project 2025, an initiative aimed at preparing right-wing appointees for a potential conservative administration, have raised concerns among watchdogs and Democratic groups. The 23 videos, totaling over 14 hours, were obtained by ProPublica and offer insight into the strategies planned by conservative groups should a Republican win the 2024 election. The videos feature former Trump administration officials discussing tactics such as evading public records laws and rolling back climate policies.
Despite efforts by Trump to distance himself from the project, many of the 36 speakers in the videos have ties to his administration. The training emphasizes the need to be “ready on Day One” and prepares appointees to navigate what is described as a hostile environment in Washington, D.C. Critics argue that Project 2025 is a blueprint for radical policy changes, while supporters see it as essential preparation for governance. The Heritage Foundation, which leads the initiative, has yet to respond to these revelations.
