President Trump has recorded the lowest 100-day approval rating of any U.S. president in the past 80 years, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll.
Only 39% of respondents said they approve of Trump’s job performance, reflecting growing public discontent as his administration nears its first major milestone. Despite this, Trump still outpaces Democratic lawmakers in perceived connection to voters, with 69% saying Democrats are “out of touch,” compared to 64% for Republicans.
Economic concerns weigh heavily, with just 39% approving of Trump’s handling of the economy and 31% approving of the volatile stock market, which is on track for its worst April since 1932. A Gallup survey also found a record 53% of Americans believe their personal finances are worsening.
However, among Trump’s base, loyalty remains strong — 94% of his 2024 voters say they do not regret their decision.
