Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) condemned former President Trump as a “two-bit union buster” who would “sell this country for a dollar” during her speech at the Democratic National Convention on Monday. She also addressed the ongoing conflict in Gaza, highlighting the estimated 40,000 deaths caused by Israel since the October 7 Hamas attacks, which killed about 1,200 Israelis.

Ocasio-Cortez praised Vice President Harris for her efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza. Known for her criticism of Israel’s actions, Ocasio-Cortez has been more measured in her critique of the Biden administration’s response.

Ocasio-Cortez also aligned with the Democratic mainstream, praising Harris, Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz, and President Biden for their dedication to the middle class. Despite her progressive stance, she refrained from urging Biden to step aside following his June 27 debate performance against Trump.
