North Carolina Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson announced the hiring of the Binnall Law Group to investigate what he calls “false smears” in a CNN report. The report alleged Robinson made inflammatory comments on a pornography website, including calling himself a “black NAZI” and making pro-slavery remarks over a decade ago.

Robinson called CNN’s claims “salacious lies” and expressed confidence that the law firm, led by Jesse Binnall, who has worked for former President Trump, would hold the network accountable. Several key campaign staffers have resigned following the report, and some Republican lawmakers, including Sen. Thom Tillis and Sen. Lindsey Graham, have distanced themselves from Robinson.
