Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem had her purse stolen Sunday night while dining at a Washington, D.C. restaurant, according to officials. The bag contained $3,000 in cash, her DHS access badge, passport, driver’s license, blank checks, keys, medication, and personal items.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said Noem had her family in town for Easter and was treating them to meals and activities, which is why she had the cash and other valuables with her. The theft occurred during an Easter dinner celebration.

The incident was first reported by CNN, which said a law enforcement source confirmed Secret Service agents reviewed surveillance footage showing “an unknown white male wearing a medical mask” taking the purse and exiting the restaurant.

The Secret Service is continuing to investigate the theft. Noem’s access badge and other sensitive materials were immediately reported missing to federal authorities.
