No Labels, a third-party organization, is experiencing doubts from its donors about the feasibility of launching a successful presidential bid. The group had aimed to introduce a “presidential unity ticket,” but potential candidates of interest, including former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and Senator Joe Manchin, have declined to run. This development, combined with the approaching April nominating convention and no clear ticket announced, has heightened concerns among supporters.

The organization’s officials assert they are continuing efforts for a presidential run, planning to decide on their candidacy line after Super Tuesday. However, the absence of a definitive slate of candidates and the secretive nature of the candidate selection process have led to increased anxiety among donors. Some express disappointment, especially after high-profile figures like Hogan and Manchin opted out, leaving the group without compelling candidates to rally behind.

No Labels’ goal to establish a third-party option arises amidst the polarized political landscape, aiming to offer an alternative to the major party candidates. However, critics, including Manchin, warn that a No Labels ticket could act as a spoiler in crucial battleground states. Despite these challenges, No Labels claims progress in operating across multiple states and securing ballot access, though hurdles in candidate selection and organizational strategy remain.

With the general election on the horizon and former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden as the likely major party candidates, No Labels supporters are anxious for a viable alternative. Yet, the possibility of attracting a significant candidate like Nikki Haley seems slim, as she has committed to the Republican primary. As No Labels continues its efforts, the path forward appears uncertain, leaving donors and supporters questioning the impact and viability of a third-party bid.
