Haley, the former United Nations ambassador under Trump, has questioned his age and fitness for a second term, a stance she believes strengthens the GOP by broadening its base.

Trump, on the other hand, views Haley’s candidacy as detrimental to both the party and her political future, expressing concerns over the divisiveness of her campaign. Polls, including The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s analysis, indicate Trump’s substantial lead in the primaries, showcasing a 32-point advantage in South Carolina, Haley’s home state, and a strong position in Michigan. Despite these challenges and the exit of other major candidates like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, Haley remains the last significant contender against Trump in the GOP race.
