In an unusual twist for the 2024 Democratic primary season, New Hampshire’s primary will proceed without President Joe Biden on the ballot and with no delegates at stake. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) penalized New Hampshire for scheduling its primary earlier than allowed, resulting in zero delegates.
Despite this, the New Hampshire Democratic Party is moving forward with the primary, mandated by state law to be the nation’s first. Biden’s absence has led to a grassroots effort encouraging write-in votes for him.
The primary outcome, while not directly impacting delegate allocation, remains a symbolic and potentially influential event in the nomination process.
