Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a delay in the cabinet vote on a ceasefire agreement with Hamas, citing “last-minute concessions” by Hamas that violate terms mediated by U.S. and Qatari officials. Netanyahu stated that the vote will proceed only when all elements of the deal are confirmed by mediators.

Hamas officials denied Netanyahu’s claims, asserting their commitment to the agreement. The war, which began in October 2023 after Hamas-led militants attacked southern Israel, has killed over 46,000 Palestinians and 1,200 Israelis. Despite the ceasefire announcement, Israeli airstrikes have continued, with 73 more reported deaths in Gaza overnight.
