JERUSALEM, Israel — Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett sharply criticized conservative commentator Tucker Carlson this week, calling him a “chickens—” over claims Carlson made about being detained at an Israeli airport.

Bennett accused Carlson of misrepresenting events during a recent visit to Israel. In a post on X, Bennett said Carlson briefly stopped in a logistics zone at Ben Gurion Airport, took a photo, and left without formally entering the country. He further alleged Carlson fabricated claims of harassment by airport security.

Carlson, however, said that after conducting an interview with U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, he and members of his team were questioned by airport security. According to reports, Carlson claimed passports were temporarily taken and a colleague was escorted to a side room for questioning.

Huckabee responded on X, stating that passport checks and routine security questions apply to everyone entering or leaving Israel, including diplomats. The Israel Airports Authority also issued a statement saying Carlson and his entourage “were not detained, delayed, or interrogated.”

The exchange adds to ongoing tensions between Carlson and Israeli officials, particularly over his recent commentary on Middle East policy.
