MyPillow, under the leadership of founder Mike Lindell, a well-known election denier, was ordered to vacate a suburban Minneapolis warehouse by a court decision on Wednesday. Lindell described the eviction as a procedural step, explaining that the landlord wished to reclaim the property. Despite the eviction, Lindell dismissed it as indicative of financial difficulties, asserting that MyPillow’s financial situation has been improving, especially after facing challenges last year due to the loss of a major advertising platform and being dropped by several national retailers.

Lindell’s financial challenges include a recent $5 million arbitration award against him and MyPillow’s discontinuation of advertisements by Fox News over a billing dispute. Despite these setbacks, Lindell maintains that the company is stable, attributing the eviction to the end of the need for the Shakopee warehouse space. According to Lindell, MyPillow had vacated the premises last June and attempted to sublease it. However, after a potential sublessee backed out in January, MyPillow was left covering unpaid rent totaling approximately $217,000 for January and February.

During a court hearing, it was confirmed that MyPillow did not contest the eviction, with the landlord’s attorney expressing a desire to find a new tenant for the warehouse. Despite this eviction, Lindell emphasized that MyPillow continues to lease other spaces and is actively addressing its financial obligations.

Lindell remains embroiled in controversy, continuing to support claims of election fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election and facing defamation lawsuits from voting machine companies. Additionally, Lindell’s legal representation has seen changes due to unpaid bills.
