A new Harvard CAPS / Harris poll shows 60% of voters support the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in its mission to reduce government spending. The poll also found 83% of voters prefer cutting expenditures over raising taxes, and 77% believe a full audit of government spending is necessary.

Despite broad support for DOGE’s cost-cutting initiatives, 58% of voters oppose DOGE employees accessing sensitive information about Americans receiving government benefits, such as names, Social Security numbers, and income data.

The poll also highlights growing public skepticism about government spending, with 70% of voters believing federal expenditures are riddled with fraud and inefficiency. Additionally, 69% support the goal of cutting $1 trillion in government spending.

The survey comes as President Donald Trump’s approval rating reaches 52%, with immigration and government efficiency ranking as his most popular policy areas.
