Investor and “Shark Tank” star Mark Cuban revealed Thursday that Kamala Harris considered him for vice president during her 2024 campaign. Cuban said he turned down the offer, citing his inexperience and discomfort with a secondary role.
“I’m not very good as the No. 2 person,” Cuban told Tim Miller of The Bulwark. “The last thing we need is me telling Kamala… that, no, that’s a dumb idea.” He added, “She would have fired me within six days.”
Miller noted the rumor had circulated through MSNBC circles and asked whether Cuban’s presence on the ticket instead of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz would have changed the race. Cuban said his outsider style wouldn’t have shifted the outcome, and likely would’ve been “awful.”
Cuban, a campaign surrogate for Harris in 2024, frequently clashed with her policy positions and rejected prepared talking points, though he still believed she would win. “I really thought she was going to win,” he said.
