In the ongoing trial of former President Donald Trump over alleged hush money payments, legal analysts highlight the conspicuous absence of Melania Trump. Joyce White Vance, a former federal prosecutor, suggested that the jury would likely observe the former first lady’s nonattendance. Trump, accused by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg of falsifying records to conceal a payment to Stormy Daniels, has denied the allegations and decried the charges as politically motivated.

Despite the presence of prominent Republicans like Mike Johnson, J.D. Vance, and Lauren Boebert, Trump’s family has been notably absent since the trial’s start. Vance remarked on social media, “When you can get these two but not your wife in court, it’s got to register with the jury.”

Neama Rahmani, another former prosecutor, concurred, noting the potential embarrassment for Melania given the testimony regarding Trump’s alleged affair. The Trump campaign has not responded to inquiries about her potential attendance.

Stephanie Winston Wolkloff, a former aide, doubted Melania’s appearance, citing her independence and the public nature of the trial. Eric Trump has been the sole family member to attend, while Mary Trump speculated on the absence of Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, the latter distancing herself from family affairs due to her own wealth and interests.
