A federal judge has ruled that the Trump administration’s buyout of federal workers can continue. In a Wednesday decision, Judge George A. O’Toole lifted a temporary restraining order and declined to issue an injunction that would have halted the process.

The judge determined that worker unions lacked standing to sue and should have pursued internal appeals before seeking legal action. The ruling could influence future lawsuits challenging the buyout program.

Scripps News confirmed that at least 20,000 federal workers have already accepted the buyout offer.
