The Trump administration has reinstated multiple health information webpages following a court order. A CDC page on HIV now carries a disclaimer rejecting “gender ideology,” asserting there are only two sexes and condemning treatments for transgender individuals.
The page still includes data on higher HIV risks among gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals, along with symptoms and treatments. A fact page on Mpox vaccines was also restored but lacks the disclaimer.
A federal judge issued a restraining order preventing further deletions of health information. Since Trump took office on January 20, the administration has removed several Department of Health and Human Services, CDC, and FDA webpages under Executive Order 14168, which mandates agencies to define sex strictly as male and female.
Doctors for America criticized the deletions, warning they create “a dangerous gap” in data needed for disease monitoring and patient care. The administration insists the changes uphold “clear and accurate language” recognizing biological sex.
