The family of late soul singer Isaac Hayes filed a lawsuit against former President Trump’s campaign on Sunday, alleging copyright infringement for unauthorized use of his music at Trump’s rallies. The lawsuit seeks $3 million in damages for 134 instances of the song “Hold On, I’m Comin’” being played at rallies from 2022 to 2024, most recently in Montana.

Isaac Hayes co-wrote the hit song performed by Sam & Dave in 1966, and his estate retains its rights. The lawsuit claims the Trump campaign repeatedly used the song without permission, despite requests to cease.

In addition to monetary damages, the lawsuit demands the removal of any videos featuring the song and requests an apology for its unauthorized use. This legal action follows Celine Dion’s recent denouncement of the use of her song “My Heart Will Go On” at the same Montana rally.
