Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) and his wife, MK, reported $1.4 million in gambling income last year, according to a Thursday campaign release. The couple earned more than $10.3 million in taxable income and paid $30.2 million in federal taxes and $4.5 million in state taxes, records obtained by the Chicago Tribune show.
Pritzker, an heir to Hyatt Hotels Corp., also recorded casino winnings and losses from a Las Vegas property. With a net worth of $3.9 billion, according to Forbes, he has self-funded his three gubernatorial campaigns and contributed millions to Democratic causes, including abortion rights protections.
The governor donated $3.3 million to charity in 2024. Pritzker’s growing national profile, fueled by frequent clashes with President Donald Trump and speculation about a potential 2028 presidential run, has drawn renewed scrutiny of his personal finances.
