On Tuesday, Biden filed a similar lawsuit in Manhattan state court, arguing that the release of the intimate images violated New York’s revenge porn law. The updated suit names both current and former Fox executives as defendants.
Fox News, in response, requested the case be transferred to federal court. The network dismissed the lawsuit as “devoid of any merit,” pointing out that the program, which aired in 2022, was removed shortly after Biden’s complaint in April 2024. Fox emphasized that Biden, as a public figure and convicted felon, is subject to media scrutiny. Biden’s recent legal troubles include a conviction on firearms charges related to a 2018 purchase.
